Where Did The Bullet Come From?

A lunatic shoots, kills and wounds in Tucson Arizona about 20 people of which one is a politician, Gabrielle Giffords, representative for the Democratic Party in the House, and …, Sarah Palin and the Tea Party people are to blame. This is what the establishment press suggests. The first thing that pops up in their heads is how can Obama profit from the atrocity.

The reactions of the Republicans and representatives of the Tea Party movement focused on the cruel facts of the slaughter without accusations on political opponents. John Boehner, newly elected Speaker of the House, said that an attack on one of them, was an attack on all public serving politicians, and that violence has no place in the American political spectrum. The Republican governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer, considers Giffords her friend, and she praised her as having always been a noble public servant. The Tucson Tea Party and many other Tea Party groups condemned the murders, and the use of violence in the political discourse.

The first truth is: the murderer is crazy. His writings are confusing, and don’t make any sense. As an example: he is convinced the government controls the mind of the citizens through ‘grammar’. He ‘dreams consciously’ and he ‘hallucinates creatively’. The US army refused to recruit him, because he was using illegal drugs. Months ago, a co-student described the butcher as a ‘leftwing pothead’. The co-student was so afraid of him she chose to sit in class on the chair closest to the exit. She sadly concluded in an e-mail that the professor and the school couldn’t do a lot to expel the crazy student, until ‘he starts shooting up the class’.

The second truth is: in a free society it is impossible to defend oneself against the lonely crazy guy going over the edge and completely losing it. The father of the nine years old girl, murdered during the tragedy, said it best: “We don’t want our liberties further eroded (by this murder). America is the freest nation on Earth. It is practically impossible to protect one self from a single act of foolishness, without having our liberties taken away.”

The third truth is: already in 2007, well over a year before the Tea Party was conceived, the slayer was obsessed with Giffords, and was not happy with the answers she gave him. On YouTube, the murderer posted a video showing him burning the US flag. Such a flag burning is the most unconceivable act for the patriotic Tea Party member.

The left in the US better pays more attention to what they say, because when the whole truth will emerge it might be that the left is to blame, and that all accusations now addressed upon the Tea Party, may actually boomerang back to the left. The murderer loved to read Hitler’s Mein Kampf and Marx’s Communist Manifesto. The authors are two of the most prominent leftist icons. The former is personally responsible for plus 20 million deaths in Europe. The ideas of the latter were and are used to slaughter over 200 million people, and to oppress, humiliate, enslave and impoverish at least 2 billion people over the course of the last 100 years.

The ‘Daily Kos’, the celebrated website of the left wing of the Democratic Party, published two days before the murder that, in their eyes, Giffords was dead! The text has now been removed from the website, but mirrors are available on the web. Why do you think Giffords was considered dead by the left wing Democrats? Because, the day before, she had, as one of only a handful of Democrats in the House, voted against the nomination of Nancy Pelosi as the Democratic Minority leader. Giffords is one of the few remaining Blue Dogs, conservative Democrats, in the House. She backs strong border control on immigration, and she was angry at the Obama administration’s attack on Arizona for trying to enforce immigration laws. Griiffords supports the Second Amendment of the Constitution: citizens have the right to arm themselves. She said she owns guns. With the exception of her pro-abortion stand, and maybe her acceptance of deficit spending, Giffords leans conservative, and is a thorn in the eye of the left.

We will not elaborate on the inappropriate statements of Obama, who invited his Hispanic supporters during the recent election cycle to see the Republicans as ‘enemies’ instead of opponents. Obama himself said he and the Democrats would bring guns to a knife-fight!

The Democrats used a map, published by Sarah Palin during the recent election, with crosshairs as symbols of the Democratic seats she wanted to take over, to prove Palin was responsible for the massacre. Answering this accusation, it took only hours before similar maps, published by Democrats during the previous elections, showing bull’s eyes on the seats they wanted to take from the Republicans, appeared on the web. In fact, such symbols are commonly used during training sessions for manager, sales people, etc.

The eagerness and the speed of the left to use the despicable massacre to blame the Tea Party and Sarah Palin is shameful on its own. When, about one year ago, the sordid major and devote muslim shot 13 of his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood, while he was shouting Allah Akbar, Obama and the left were pleading and warning not to jump to conclusions.

So, let us wait until the investigation is closed, and let us decide, for now, that the murderer is a complete lunatic, and his rampage senseless. Let us also, as we commonly say and do in the USA, remember the victims and their families in our prayers. Giffords and a few more people are still fighting for their life!

PS: I refused to name the crazy murderer to avoid spreading his fame. He is a low life nobody.

To Johnny Fincioen

I fully agree that the Democrats are attempting to use this massacre for political capital both in Arizona (repealing the state's anti-illegal immigration laws) and in Washington (quieting the opposition to the Obama Administration).  My only disagreement is that the murderer was leftist.  Individualism and communitarianism are found on both the right and left, and egalitarianism can be as dangerous an ideal as traditionalism.  I do not see this massacre as political in any rational sense, even if the perpetrator was influenced by others.  Of course, if Republicans see Democrats as the StaSi and Democrats see Republicans as fascists or McVeigh-esque anarchists, that sort of polarization may lead to more organized violence.

The second truth is: in a free society it is impossible to defend oneself against the lonely crazy guy going over the edge and completely losing it.

In a general sense, this is not completely accurate.  It is not impossible to defend oneself against attack, yet one must be prepared.  In this particular situation, however, you may be correct; it seems unlikely that any reasonable prevention could have taken place.  But the average citizen who has an obligation to defend one's life and family can and should take certain preventative measures.  Unfortunately, often times it is government that prevents one from doing so.
