Fortuyn proposed capping immigration and forcing the animals here already to integrate. Since the killer of Van Gogh was a citizen he would not have been deported so I really doubt this would have changed. Most parties have already moved far to the right of Fortuyn on immigration so it is actually possible that his election would have created a mood for slower change. It was his death that opened the debate.
