The Financial Times Is Wrong

Yesterday Monday September 6th, Clive Crook gives Obama a break in the Financial Times. The generally expected big disaster for the Democrats during the upcoming November Congressional elections is not Obama’s fault. At least that is what Clive thinks. He lays the blame almost entirely at the feet of the Congressional Democrats. He believes Obama is not all that bad. But, he forgets to mention what exactly he thinks Obama did right.
Clive misses the ball. Obama is the leader of the Democratic party, and the personification of what is going wrong in the USA. The Democratic Congress, with an absolute majority, worshipped Obama, and executed his plans on demand. Only since this summer we see Democrats running away from Obama to enhance their chances for reelection. Better than Clive, they understand what Americans really think of Obama’s policies.
The Regime press praised during the last three years every whisper and move by Obama. All critique was ignored and labeled racist or even worse. One small example: Obama made the cover of Time Magazine over 20 times during 2008 alone. Obama was pictured as the God, who couldn’t be wrong and would make every thing better. But, when the situation is now worse than ever, Obama can’t hide from his responsibility. Let us refresh Clive’s memory a bit.
Americans saw Obama himself, immediately after his inauguration, pushing a stimulation packaged of almost 1 trillion dollars through Congress guaranteeing the jobless rate would never pass 8%. Today, that figure is close to 10%, and increased last month. This summer, we saw Obama hitting the road, in between all his vacations, to laud the success of his stimulation package. Americans were shocked about his defiance of reality.
Obama forced the Democratic Congress to vote for his budgets, multiplying the yearly deficit by a factor four up to 1.5 trillion dollars! It is Obama’s administration projecting such deficits for as far the mind can think. The total debt of the USA will grow over 100% of the gross national product during his first term. Obama, if reelected, will create more debt than all previous 43 Presidents combined, if a Republican Congress can’t stop him. Yesterday, Obama had the audacity to ask Congress to spend another 50 billion dollars on road repairs. Dollars that are not available and need to be borrowed. The majority of the Americans are convinced Obama is leading America off the financial cliff into bankruptcy in the short term.
It was Obama who campaigned almost daily for ObamaCare, and forced it through the throat of the American people with the Democratic Congress as cheerful accomplice. To be successful Obama used dirty parliamentary tricks and open corruption. Today, nearly 60% of the American people don’t want this nationalization of the healthcare system.
It is Obama who sues Arizona and its leaders when they want to help the federal government with the implementation of the immigration laws, now that Obama’s administration is reluctant to do the job.
The Democrats are in for a historic loss in November. It is generally expected they will loose the House, and maybe even the Senate. A recent Gallup poll asked thousand of Americans if they would vote for a Democrat or a Republican. No names of candidates were mentioned. For the first time since 1942, when Gallup started asking this question, the Republicans are winning the contest with over 10%. The Rasmussen poll, published today, even gives +12% for the Republicans.
Obama is now loosing the young professionals too. They start to understand they will be responsible to pay back the huge mountains of government debt through a combination of sky high taxes and wild running inflation. During his campaign, Obama flatly lied to the young people. He promised balanced budgets, but he is creating enormous debt as far as the eye can see. He presented himself as a uniter, but he divides the American people by race and by income class. He promised to work together with the opposing party, but he bragged loud he won, and refused all meaningful input of Republicans to build solutions. Obama had the absolute majority, and didn’t need any Republican help.
After the November elections, with a Congress controlled by the Republicans, Obama can stick to his statist agenda bringing American politics to a stand still. The political mood in the USA will than further swing to the right. Or, Obama could do what Clinton did in 1994, drop his leftist policies and work together with the Republicans. However, Obama is in the first place an ideologist, not a politician.
