The EU Commission Wishes Us All a Green Year, Without Jobs and U.S. Imports

A quote from The Financial Times, 7 January 2008
Plans to tighten European anti-pollution legislation could force the closure of swathes of industry […] The European Commission tabled proposals just before Christmas to toughen directives dealing with dust, sulphur and nitrogen emissions […] BusinessEurope, which represents employers across the European Union, says the cost of compliance could force many plants to close. "These directives will impose a disproportionate cost on industry, leading to production cuts in Europe rather than to further innovation and investment in clean technologies," it said in a letter to commissioners.
A quote from EU Observer, 7 January 2008
The European Commission is considering proposing a carbon dioxide tariff on imports from states failing to tackle greenhouse gas emissions, while also considering a toughening-up of the EU's own emission trading system. […]
The plan reflects pressure by French president Nicolas Sarkozy who argued in October that Europe should "examine the option of taxing products imported from countries that do not respect the Kyoto Protocol," referring to the 1997 international agreement on fighting climate change. […] The EU's main trading partner, the US, has not signed the Kyoto protocol […]
Meanwhile, the commission draft also foresees more stringent green rules for EU companies after 2012, when the Kyoto treaty expires.
Green year...

There's a double entendre here... green... as in envirofascism and Islamofascism...
Sharkozy's double standards strike again

S(h)arkozy's double standards strike again.
Parts from Jens-Peter Bonde's (an European Parliament Member from Denmark) Briefing about the birth of the Lisbon Treaty (19.12.07) "Born in sun and sin"
"By meeting the two different places, they demonstrated for Europeans how an extra amount of over 200 tons of CO2 could be spread the day before the UN summit in Bali decided to go for a new Kyoto protocol to combat climate change.
That was the price to name the new treaty: The Lisbon Treaty."
That price also included for them to break the rules preached by them in order to justify a historical fraud committed by them.
These people seem to be really determined to cut very deep into our bones so that they could grow an unprecedented amount of fat.

Gorbachev said in 2000

This is a fact that I was not really aware of, looking into the North American Union issue. If things go on the way they are, this will become a reality in a few years. EUSSR2 :)
"When former Soviet dictator Mikhail Gorbachev visited Britain
in 2000, he accurately described the European Union as "the new European
Soviet." He said this with obvious approval, since he sees the evolving
EU as fulfilling his vision of a "common European home" stretching
"from the Atlantic to the Urals," as he described it in his 1987
book Perestroika. Mr. Gorbachev is a lifelong Communist overlord who has steadfastly
refused to renounce Communism.
In fact, he defiantly remains a Communist. On December 23,
1989, Gorbachev declared to his fellow Soviets, "I am a communist. For
some that may be a fantasy. But for me it is my main goal." On February
26, 1991, Gorbachev said, "I am not ashamed to say that I am a communist
and adhere to the communist idea, and with this I will leave for the other
world." He has repeated these sentiments many times. In his book he also
stated: "I frankly admit that we are glad that the idea of a ‘common
European home’ finds understanding among prominent political and public
figures of not only Eastern, but also Western Europe...." "
