The Imam’s Daughter: On the Run in Britain
From the desk of The Brussels Journal on Fri, 2007-12-07 10:00
A quote from The London Evening Standard, 6 December 2007
The daughter of a British imam is living under police protection after receiving death threats from her father for converting to Christianity. The 31-year-old, whose father is the leader of a mosque in Lancashire, has moved house an astonishing 45 times after relatives pledged to hunt her down and kill her. […]
Hannah was born in Lancashire to Pakistani parents […] She ran away from home at 16 after overhearing her father organising her arranged marriage. […] [W]hen she opted to get baptised, while studying at Manchester University, her family were incensed and the death threats began.
Her father arrived at her home with 40 men and threatened to kill her for betraying Islam. "I saw my uncle and around 40 men storming up the street clutching axes, hammers, knives and bits of wood," she said. "My dad was shouting through the letter box, "I'm going to kill you", while the others smashed on the window and beat the door. […]
Since then Hannah, who gives talks to churches on Islam, has been on the run from her family, often being forced to flee her home with only a few minutes' notice. After receiving the latest text threat from her brother, in June, she finally went to the police. No one has been arrested or charged in connection with the death threats, but officers have put her on an "at risk" register and have given her a panic number to call if she fears for her own safety.
Yesterday Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, told delegates at the launch of a religious charity that Muslims in Britain who wished to change faiths were living in fear of their lives because of Islamic hostility to conversion. A study this year found that 36 per cent of British Muslims between 16 and 24 believe those who convert to another religion should be punished by death.
@ Armor - Deportation works, they can't return to the UK
Submitted by Zen Master on Mon, 2007-12-10 00:11.
I intended them to have their immigration rights to the UK revoked. If they can’t be legal residents of the UK, they can’t cause these foolish problems. Their thinking process is similar to that of eight year old school bullies. If the UK police are intimidated by them they allow the Muslims to win. Then the UK public lives in fear. Why allow people like this to reside in the host country and disrupt law abiding people? Just deport the Imam / father with his entire family, minus the daughter.
Simple people only respect physical force, so give them the boot out of the UK. I have a small amount of training and lawful experience in this subject and physical force has worked for me. If you allow yourself to be bullied, you will live in fear and chaos.
The immigrants have no legal right to terrorize the Iman’s daughter. Send them home, end of lesson and the remaining immigrants will begin to get the ‘message.’ Believe me, it will work.
The only thing Muslims fear is deportation, so deport them
Submitted by Zen Master on Sun, 2007-12-09 19:48.
It seems to be impossible to reason with people who hate the culture of their host country. Deportation of the troublemakers, their families, and their Imam will get their attention. Further immigration by Muslims should be stopped. They seem to feel the western cultures should be happy to see them arrive with large uneducated families and take rent free apartments. This is while paying no taxes.
So many people in much of Europe are afraid of the barbarians they have allowed entry. Their politicians are too P. C. to have the common sense and courage to admit they have made immigration mistakes in the past. Just begin to deport the most criminal of them.
deportation is no big deal
Submitted by Armor on Sun, 2007-12-09 20:07.
Many muslims self-deport twice a year when they take a vacation to visit their family. Many of them would like to be buried in their home country when they die. And in Europe, they tend to live among their own countrymen.
similar situation
Submitted by Citizen Z on Sat, 2007-12-08 17:59.
There was a similar situation - daughter wants to escape Islam - in Belgium.
A 14 year old girl killed her dad while he was praying with a knife. He had beaten her up for months and told her she should get married in Algeria.
Apparently she had enough with this and freaked out.. which I fully understand. She must have had a lot of courage at that age to do this.
Hannah's case is by no means
Submitted by Aisling on Sat, 2007-12-08 10:11.
Hannah's case is by no means the first I've heard of. Muslims in Europe have been very successful at reproducing the situation in their countries of origin where freedom of (changing one's) religion is concerned: in the Muslim world as in Europe, you don't encounter any obstacle or danger if you convert to Islam, but in both places you can run up against all kinds of problems (including risking your life) if you go from Islam to any other religion, or none. If there's one issue on which Europeans have shown the extent of their dhimmitude, it's precisely on this question of protecting converts and making it very clear that freedom of "apostasy" is non-negotiable. "Making it very clear" would mean jailing or deporting people who harm converts (and yes, threatening to kill or maim people is also a crime), and it would also mean publicly denouncing Muslim organisations, such as the Muslim Council of Britain, that keep very silent on this issue while very ready to spring into action whenever the rights, real or more often presumed, of Muslims are infringed.
One of the most urgent things to be done to combat islamisation in Europe is to give all possible protection and support to ex-Muslims (such as Ehsam Jami and his group in the Netherlands), as well as to women and girls who are trying to get away from an oppressive upbringing and lead normal lives. Apart from the obvious point of principle involved, these are also issues on which the hypocrisy of leftwing commentators and politicians can be easily exposed.
Debate

In the original newspaper article,'Hannah' is reported to have said,"I know the Koran says anyone who goes away from Islam should be killed as an apostate,so in some ways my family are following Islam to the word".Interestingly, last month in Saudi Arabia, the birth-place of her former religion,a group of Muslim scholars took part in a live tv debate on the issue of how to deal with apostates. Here is the clip:

And here is the transcript of the debate minus the video:

@ Atheling
We disagree (somewhat) on this one, as we do on the proper interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. But, disagreement can be a sign of 'health'.
Your comment about "feminine sensitivity" is dangerously worded, in the sense that it could easily strengthen the foolish prejudices of many men. Indeed, when someone as prejudiced as 'Monarchist' here starts to agree with you, that is clearly a big sign for caution......!
The problem is that all human behavior can have BOTH physical (biological) causes and cultural causes. And I would not venture to claim much 'certainty' about the relative importance of these causes in the context of specific behavior patterns. Thus, while one could clearly label certain behavior patterns as "more feminine" or "more masculine", it is not obvious to what extent these differences are determined by culture (habit, example, etc...). After all, there are many individual counter examples. For example, think of Margaret Thatcher (or yourself perhaps?) as a 'strong' person, and the male Bill Clinton as an eternal 'whiner' and adolescent.

As another female weighing in on this, atheling poses a good point. One doesn't have to look far as to how my gender has failed us in the west. Any peep out of western feminists on the the horrific abuses by Islam towards women? No.
The feminization of education in the west hasn't had a good outcome for males in the past few decades. White males have been vilified at the hands of lefy feminists.
The worst Useless Idiots that have championed pc and multi-culti garbage have been females. It hurts to say it, but, it is true. Sadly, women tend to process information based on their feelings while males are more logic and reason based.

And you bring up an excellent point...
The hypocrisy of feminism and their deafening silence regarding the abuse of Muslim women... they really have no credibility do they?

"Your comment about "feminine sensitivity" is dangerously worded, in the sense that it could easily strengthen the foolish prejudices of many men."
I speak as I find. If it fuels the prejudices of certain people, then so be it. We see that occur in other instances, such as Armor's racism when discussing the problems of immigration. Does that mean we should never bring the topic up? I understand your uneasiness with what I said, as I predicted that many may not like it, however my experiences and observations support my growing belief that the differences between men and women are more than just physical or biological.
"The problem is that all human behavior can have BOTH physical (biological) causes and cultural causes."
I agree, however a preponderance of gray does not negate the existence of black and white! By the way, did you know that a woman's skin is thinner than a man's? And yes, Margaret Thatcher comes to mind when one seeks the exception rather than the rule...
"But, disagreement can be a sign of 'health'"
And so can agreement, as Monarchist does... though I suspect for different reasons.
And anyway... a stopped clock is right twice in a day...

Start by deporting the father
Submitted by Zen Master on Fri, 2007-12-07 19:24.
Somewhere along the road to ‘Political Correctness,’ the British seem to have lost common sense. Threatening to murder should be a crime that is prosecuted by the authorities. Place this sorry group of thugs under arrest. If they are convicted, deport all of them with their families. Start with the father.
The legal system in the UK will collapse unless the legal system cracks down on criminal mobs. This mob obviously is not worried about the law. They seem to think they are living in their home country.

"Threatening to murder should be a crime that is prosecuted by the authorities."
Disagree. If every person who threatened violence was arrested and prosecuted our prisons would be overflowing more than they are now.
However, those men should have been arrested when they came to her house bearing axes, knives, etc... That is the threat.
I don't know the laws in Britain, but I do know that in the US she could have filed for a restraining order and if any of those men came within a hundred yards of her then they could be arrested. She could have also bought herself a handgun for self protection.
No wonder so many are fleeing Britain.
Britain is insane to tolerate this!!
Submitted by Dr. D on Fri, 2007-12-07 18:32.
Britain is insane to tolerate this sort of behaviour. It ought to be evident to the casual observer where the problem is and what the solution is: get rid of the father, brothers, uncles, etc, -- all of them, immediately and permanently. To allow this to continue for even one day is absolutely ridiculous, and yet it goes on. Why? Because of political correctness! This is the greatest sort of self inflicted wound that society know how to give itself. We accept rank stupidity in the name of PC. Why? Why? Why? All that has to happen to stop this is to say that we will not stand for it any longer. It has no power of its own; absolutely none. It is only imposed by intimidation and the cowardice of the people who accept it. STAND UP, DAMN IT!! Put a stop to this foolishness!
Why? Why? Why?
Submitted by atheling on Fri, 2007-12-07 18:47.
I'll tell you why...
Political correctness is feminine sensitivity writ large, to paraphrase Florence King.
I'm going to say something which will raise the ire of some people but here goes:
Ever since women have entered the political arena of the West, particularly in the 1960's, we have seen this sort of perpetual state of "offendedness" in political life. It really was born in the early 20th century, after women got the vote.
Now, I'm a woman, and I vote, and I am for women's EQUITY in society, however I don't think women and men are equal. Secondly, I don't think the majority of women have the wherewithal to think objectively, coldly, and reasonably. Who do you think are the majority of watchers of Jerry Springer and soap operas? I started thinking about this after Bill Clinton's first election when I saw a Hollywood bimbo say that she voted for him because he was "cute". The very same women are also voting for Hillary simply because she is a woman.
Scary.

Average men are not better at all, soccer and beer. However I would agree that more men fits to politics than women.

The terrible throughout the story, despite the fact that father, brother and others, threatening to murder her because she no longer wants to Islam include:
NO ONE HAS BEEN ARRESTED OR CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEATH TREARTS????
WHY????

Apparently you can be arrested in Britain if you say that Islam is a "vicious and hateful religion", but if you threaten to murder someone and carry an axe, chasing them, you won't.
Go figure... Actually, let's ask Schaveiger.
Well, what I see is that

When Arabs suffer as a result of their own backwardness I'm not inclined to pity them. Whites have built successful societies-why shouldn't we keep them for ourselves? I agree with Monarchist, we should deport them all.
