Jews Under Attack in Norway
From the desk of Filip van Laenen on Thu, 2006-07-20 22:42
Only about 1,300 Jews live in Norway, but because of the tensions and the current events in the Middle East, they are at risk of being attacked. The Norwegian newspaper Vårt Land reports that a Jew was assaulted by Arabs in the streets of Oslo last Saturday. In response, The Mosaic Community in Oslo has sent out a recommendation to its members to leave the kippah at home, or cover it under a cap. It is also warning its members against speaking Hebrew in public. During the past few days the Community has received several threats and other unpleasant messages.
The Jewish journalist Mona Levin declared she was shocked by the Mosaic Community's recommendations. In a reaction she said she was going to wear her Star of David again: "We should not hide that we are Jewish. If we do that, we betray ourselves."
At the same time, the cartoonist Finn Graff published an anti-Israeli cartoon in the popular Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet. The cartoon shows Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as a Nazi commander in the concentration camp of Auschwitz. The scene comes from the movie Schindler's List, in which the commander shoots down a random Jew from his balcony. For the sake of clarity: Finn Graff is the same cartoonist who declared only half a year ago that he would not draw a cartoon about Muhammad out of fear and "respect." Apparently he has no problems with his fear, nor does he need to show any respect when he can insult Jews or Israel, or Christians for that matter.
Israel is the problem

Israel is losing the war slowly but surly. They have battled a militia not an organized army for over three weeks now and they have yet to show any victory on the ground. The fear that Israel has now is that next time the war will be closer and closer. Israel realizes that it is whole existence is at stake and maybe more corrective actions should be taken. Perhaps move out from the Middle East and buy another land like the zionists once considered before they occupied Palestine.
Who are the real terrorists in the Middle East?

Israel's land - hunger
Submitted by Jari on Wed, 2006-07-26 09:43.
We might have some ideas in common, European Muslim, although i do not know to which extent.
I believe the whole problem conceirning Israel is based on territory. Israel should thank Hitler (maybe they do, silently) for what they recieved in return from the international community: land.
The simplicity of the solution could be overwhelming. Israel should re - size its territory to a size it has been agreed upon just after the second world war.
Israel however has many reasons to maintain their strategy of expansion, such as the need for fresh water, the land hunger caused by population growth and the need for a buffer - zone to protect itself agains agressors.
The fact remains that Israel not only took the finger, it took a whole hand. Returning some of the land to the historical owners, would create a goodwill that works in at least two ways: less agression from the arabic world and larger agreement within the UN to intervene if such agression would take place.
I do not see any other way to bring peacefull coexistence in the area lasting longer then a few months.
Israel and Palestine

basic questions about the country of Palestine:
1. When was it founded and by whom?
2. What were its borders?
3. What was its capital?
4. What were its major cities?
5. What constituted the basis of its economy?
6. What was its form of government?
7. Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?
8. Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence,
at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?
9. What was the language of the country of Palestine?
10. What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine?
11. What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history
and find the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary
unit against other world currencies on that date.
12. Have the Palestinians left any artefacts behind?
13. Do you know of a library where one could find a work of Palestinian literature produced before 1967?
14. Finally, what caused its demise and when did it occur?
15. If the Palestinians are anything other than Arabs collected from all over the Arab world, if they have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered defeat by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War?

The truth should be obvious to everyone who wants to know it. Arab countries have never abandoned the dream of destroying Israel; they still cherish it today
The fact is, Arabs populating Gaza, Judea, and Samaria have no legitimate claim to nationhood. The so-called Palestinians have only one motivation, the destruction of Israel. This is not sufficient to consider them a nation.
There is only one way to achieve peace in the Middle East. Arab countries must acknowledge and accept their defeat in the war against Israel and, as the losing side, should pay Israel reparations for the more than 50 years of devastation they have visited upon it. The most appropriate form of such reparations would be the removal of their terrorist organizations from the land of Israel and acceptance of Israel's ancient sovereignty over Gaza, Judea, and Samaria. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen any time soon.
The notion that the Arab-Palestinians are an ancient people with thousands of years of history is preposterous and they know it. They're relying on the fact that YOU don't know it

Now we are getting somewere.
About your questions on founding fathers, dates, artefacts and all that stuff: i - don't - care. The presence of people on a territory we westerners have nothing in common with, is not a strong argument for the invasion of that territory. The abundance of people that claim the land (in the case of scarcely populated deserts) maybe is.
To my opinion, if a nation is invading on other territory, the invaders should (a) make the existing population officially declare they accept the reign of the newcomers or (b) whipe them out completely, for the sake of the social structure and functioning of the newcomers. That Israel did not apply such a Ceasarean strategy, means they now burn their butts.
You wil never get the invaded Arab countries to accept their defeat, not in a thousand years. And the complete removal of terrorist organisations (as being assumed by the Israeli's and the US) is an utter naive assumption.
For a durable peace, Israel has two options: (a) to apply the Ceasarean strategy or (b) to de - size its territory. US and UN should only interfere with plan nr. b.
Otherwise we will all burn our butts - and it is getting hot already.
option C

option C : and when provoked too far, engage those who have finally pushed once too often. naturally the difference being IDF has actually warned in most occasions SO AS TO LIMIT civilian casualties. By ironic contrast, Hezbollah (yes your responses were to my questions of palestine)fires from UN positions! ( http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=37278180-a261-421...)... and AMAZINGLY the EXACT UN PRESS RELEASE but when first reported it NEGLECTED to mention Hezbollah arty actually hit a UN post AND Hezbollah fighters had fired from FOUR different UN locations http://www.un.org/Depts/dpko/missions/unifil/pr010.pdf.
This is the type of enemy Israel knows all too well. This is the enemy under the guise of charity works (its hospitals are makeshift hootches where they patch up their mujahideen, its 'educational' contributions are the total indoctrination/brainwashing of its pre teen youth to have one sole eternal purpose and goal : the total annihilation/destruction of israel. All of course justified through that wonderful religion of peace and tolerance : Islam. THIS is the enemy Israel knows all too well, and this is the tentacle of Ahmadinezhad so lets not kid ourselves. I understand your desire for 2 options. I am sorry if you do not understand that not in this presidency, not in the next presidency, not in your lifetime, not in my lifetime, not in your grandchildrens' grandchildrens lifetimes will the united states ever abandon israel. not as long as they stand alone within this madness you are apparently unwilling to acknowledge. I am not Jewish but clearly identify the fact that Israel certainly does not look for the sympathy or approval of various nations, nations who have made no secrets about their lack of support. and certainly why should it look to a un leadership that has failed once again to prove its value in todays political climate. Israel has been pushed too far and the USA is well aware of it.
Seems to me that this, as

Seems to me that this, as usual, is an attack on ethnic Europeans. Jews just supply a lightening rod and Israel supplies an excuse. Multiracial immigration is the problem; Islam is just the immediate issue.

I'm not sure it's the ethnicity of the victim. I think it's the ethnicity of the attacker.
It is hard for the West to condemn Israel, though they do manage to do so. It therefore focuses on the non-Israeli victims.
When civil war broke out in Lebanon, did the West send out its troops, ships and planes to get their nationals, including all double nationals, out? Maybe they did.. I just can't remember anything like it.

I am not surprised that there have been repurcussions in Norway. Anyone who has read Bruce Bawer's book, "While Europe Slept" will be familiar with his experiences of Norwegian attitudes to Jews.

Unfortunately, what Europe's blind men (read: liberal governments) refuse to see is that the Jewish problem is only handy excuse and merely a first step in the establishment of an "Islamic Nation" that would rule the world. Should we doubt their intentions after Sheikh Nasrallah openly declared them on Al-Manar TV on July 16?
“Hezbollah is not waging the battle of Hezbollah or of Lebanon. We are waging the battle of the [Islamic] nation, whether we like it or not, whether the Lebanese like or not.”
— Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, Al-Manar TV, July 16
Europe has two choices:
a) To open its eyes and face the Islamic attempt at takeover from within
b) To continue ignoring the root of the problem and appease...
Alas! The lesson of Britain's Neville Chamberlain's appeasement policy towards Germany during WWII has been wasted on Europe. As Winston Churchill said: "These appeasers hope the crocodile will eat them last!" Shall we walk straight into the crocodile's mouth or will we defend ourselves, before it becomes an exercise in fultility?!?!?

Anti-Semitism in the UK

Cranmer has just done a post on the anti-Semitism of The Guardian newspaper in the UK. Its only effect could be to stir up hatred against Jews and Israel. If Islamic iconography were abused in this way, there would be an outcry.

Meanwhile dozens of white Afrikaners have been murdered in S. Africa, 300 Lebanese civilians dead at the hands of Israel and this gets world press? Wouldn't even make the second page of any major US paper if not for the ethnicity of the victim. Is this our future? The lives of "certified minorities" are worth more than the rest of us?
